The InfluenConnect site

InfluenConnect is Comms8’s own SaaS: an influencer search engine covering 120,000+ creators across 23 platforms and 46 countries, built so Western brands can reach the creators on Douyin, WeChat and RedNote that no Western tool indexes. I was the only marketer on it.

A product with no marketing site and no inbound. Fifteen leads a month, nearly all of them cold outreach. The agency’s own site was doing about 400 organic sessions.

influenconnect.com, from scratch

15+ pages designed, written and shipped on Wix. Keyword strategy, technical SEO and link building behind them, worked out in Semrush. The blog programme I ran alongside it took comms8.com from about 400 organic sessions a month to about 12,000.

Seven interface pieces, designed and animated

The screens that carry the Solutions pages: search and filtering, creator profiles, transparent pricing, the AI assistant, saved lists and campaign summaries. Designed in full, then animated in After Effects.

Five walkthroughs of the live product

One for each solution page: a screen recording of the logged-in app, an AI presenter generated in HeyGen, voice from ElevenLabs, cut together with burned-in subtitles in Premiere Pro. No crew, no studio, no reshoot when the copy changed. These are the product doing the thing, rather than a drawing of it.

The InfluenConnect Playbook

A vertical series for TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn explaining the Asian creator market to Western marketers, which is the thing the product exists to solve. Three of 20+ films edited across the year in Premiere Pro and After Effects.

Paid, outbound and lifecycle

Campaigns on Meta Ads and Google Ads against the pages the SEO work had already earned. Outbound sequences in Klenty, and the retargeting list in Mailchimp that held roughly a 60% open rate.

Twelve months. Inbound leads went from 15 to 80–100 a month, the product site from about 12 organic sessions to about 4,000, and the agency site from about 400 to about 12,000. Email retargeting held roughly a 60% open rate. I led a content team of three.

The email list was the highest-intent channel and the least built out. I’d segment it properly and put lifecycle automation behind the free trial.
